ABOUT US
Corporate History
Colonial Parking was founded in 1953 in Washington, DC by two
George Washington University graduates, Thaddeus Lindner and Sergius
Gambal, who had the foresight to envision the development of Downtown
Washington into a world class real estate market. Seizing upon opportunities
to convert vacant buildings and raw land into income producing properties
for their owners, Gambal and Lindner gradually grew a one-lot company
(30¢ a day!) into what is today a company recognized as an
industry leader.
Along the way, the Founders focused on ensuring that Colonial developed
revolutionary products (the monthly account, a proprietary charge card)
and services (segregated internal revenue controls) to protect the service
and financial value of their landlord’s properties.
Today, Tad Lindner serves as the company’s Chairman of the
Board and Serge Gambal serves as a Founding Director on the corporation’s
Board. Lindner’s son, Russell, joins them in the governance
of the company as Vice Chairman. Andrew Blair, a twenty year veteran
who serves as President and Chief Executive Officer and Julia Horman,
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, join together
in managing the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of
Colonial.
They, in turn, lead a senior management team whose combined local parking
experience exceeds 130 years. While each senior staff
member is responsible for a specific departmental or divisional function,
their work together ensures that Colonial’s products and services
continue to not only lead the industry, but also address
the ever changing requirements of the firm’s clients.
