For over seventy years, Colonial Parking has helped people access the places where they work, dine, gather, celebrate, and connect.

Today, we are excited to announce the expansion of our service offerings with the launch of Colonial Parking Valet Services across Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.

As the DMV continues to grow and evolve, so do the expectations of the people who visit the region’s restaurants, event venues, hotels, mixed-use destinations, and commercial properties. Guests increasingly expect convenience, efficiency, and a seamless experience from the moment they arrive.

Valet services allow Colonial Parking to support those expectations while helping our clients create exceptional experiences for their customers and guests.

“Guests today prioritize convenience, speed, and a seamless experience,” said Aiham Mourad, Vice President of Operations at Colonial Parking. “They expect a frictionless arrival where they can go directly to their destination without the hassle of searching for parking, navigating crowded garages, or dealing with delays. Valet helps us deliver that experience while creating a strong first impression from the moment someone arrives.”

The addition of valet services represents a natural extension of Colonial Parking’s longstanding expertise in parking operations and mobility management throughout the region.

For decades, Colonial Parking has worked alongside property owners, businesses, and destinations to create parking solutions that support both operational efficiency and customer experience. Valet services expand that capability by providing a premium arrival option for clients seeking to elevate guest service while improving the management of parking assets during peak demand periods.

While valet is often viewed through the lens of convenience, it also provides meaningful operational benefits.

In many of the environments Colonial Parking serves, parking demand is concentrated around specific times and events. Restaurants experience evening rushes. Event venues see large volumes of arrivals within short windows. Hotels and hospitality destinations regularly balance guest arrivals, departures, and visitor traffic throughout the day.

“In the settings we serve, parking is frequently limited, congested, or not immediately visible,” Mourad said. “Valet eliminates the need for guests to search for a spot, navigate tight garages, or walk long distances. Instead, they can arrive directly at the entrance, hand off their vehicle, and proceed inside without delay.”

For operators, valet can also help improve traffic flow, maximize parking capacity, and create a more organized arrival experience.

“Properties today are under increasing pressure to maximize space, improve traffic flow, and differentiate the experience they provide,” Mourad continued. “As demand has grown and parking constraints have become more pronounced, particularly during peak hours, traditional self-parking alone is not always enough. Valet allows us to operate more efficiently, increase capacity, and better support higher volumes while creating a better overall experience.”

The service is particularly well-suited for restaurants, hotels, special events, entertainment venues, and destinations where hospitality plays a central role in the customer experience.

Colonial Parking recently launched its first major valet operation in support of Uchi’s Washington, DC, opening, helping guests enjoy a seamless arrival experience from opening weekend forward.

For Mourad, successful valet operations are about far more than parking vehicles.

“Valet is ultimately a hospitality service,” he said. “Our goal is to remove friction from the guest experience. When guests arrive, we want them focused on the dinner they’re about to enjoy, the event they’re attending, or the people they’re meeting—not on where they’re going to park.”

Behind that experience is a highly coordinated operation.

Staffing, traffic management, vehicle staging, key control procedures, and real-time communication all work together to create the seamless service guests encounter at the curb.

“A well-run valet program requires constant coordination. There’s a significant amount of planning, communication, and execution happening behind the scenes. The goal is for the guest to never see that complexity. They should simply experience a smooth, professional arrival,” Mourad shared.

Colonial Parking believes this combination of operational expertise and customer service is what positions the company to deliver value for clients across the region.

“For nearly seven decades, Colonial Parking has adapted to meet the changing needs of the DMV,” shared Colleen M. Niese, President and CEO of Colonial Parking. “The addition of valet services is another example of our commitment to providing thoughtful, customer-focused solutions that help our clients succeed. We are excited to bring this new capability to the market and look forward to supporting more restaurants, venues, properties, and destinations throughout the region.”

As Colonial Parking continues to expand its services, the goal remains the same: helping people move through the DMV more conveniently, more efficiently, and with greater confidence.

Valet services are now available throughout Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia. We look forward to helping our clients create exceptional arrival experiences for every guest who visits their properties and destinations.
