Bio:

Ashleigh Ross grew up in Atlanta and graduated from Purdue University in 2016 with a degree in Finance. She moved to the DMV area in 2017 and began her career in commercial real estate until she later found Colonial Parking. In January 2019 she joined the Colonial team as a Yield Management Specialist.

Tell me a little bit about yourself:

I love to stay active and explore the DC food scene. As a hobby, I teach group workout classes on the side at a local studio.

What are some of your regular duties as Yield Management Specialist?

I analyze transient and monthly rates and occupancy at all our locations to find opportunities to optimize revenue. I also build models for specific locations which allows me to further analyze a location and bring recommendations to our clients. Ultimately, my job is to search for opportunities where we can be doing better and implement changes around those opportunities.

What do you like about working in parking?

Data analysis is something I find very interesting and data plays a big role in how we manage parking at Colonial. Through the systems we have in place, like Colonial 360, I’m able to access and use a broad scope of information, which I really enjoy. Before coming here, I didn’t realize how data-focused the parking world was.

Why do you like working at Colonial Parking?

We have great people who love what they do. It makes it an enjoyable place to work and collaborate.

What do you think makes you good at your job?

I love to look at numbers and find patterns within data. I think that having an eye for numbers in this way really helps me do well in my job. I also enjoy seeing the impact my work has, so it makes me work that much harder, and I get to see the returns.

What are your goals at Colonial?

My goals at Colonial are to continue to take on more responsibility and grow within the company. I think there is a lot of room in Yield Management to expand because there are always new opportunities to look for, and I’m excited get to be at the forefront of that.
