Bio:

Ashley Lagon started with Colonial Parking in 2013 as a temp in the Customer Care department. Not long after, she was hired as a full-time employee in the Revenue Integrity and Maximization department. She quickly became a Field Auditor and, later, Ticket Auditor. In 2018, Ashley was hired as an Assistant Operations Manager for our George Washington University locations. It was not long before she was promoted to Operations Manager, overseeing all 24 locations in the George Washington portfolio.


 

Tell me a little bit about yourself:

I consider myself to be a very professional and reliable individual. Working in various positions at Colonial Parking over the last 6 years, I’ve learned to be a team player, especially when it comes to my staff and management method.

 


 

What are some of your regular duties as an Operations Manager?

My regular duties consist of resolving customer concerns, ensuring the facilities are operating in accordance with company policy, including revenue control, equipment maintenance, and that proper and accurate signage is displayed at all times. I also conduct periodic safety audits to ensure the facility’s safety and security for visitors and employees. I oversee all day-to-day activities associated with opening, managing, and closing the facilities, as well as maintaining proper staffing levels at all times to ensure superb customer service and operating standards are met.

 


 

What do you like about working in parking?

I like working with people. Working in parking gives me a chance to interact with different customers and a chance to help and resolve issues. I enjoy the collaboration and teamwork that exists with my Colonial associates to resolve difficult situations. It is also challenging and exciting because no day is like another.

 


 

Why do you like working at Colonial Parking?

I like working at Colonial because it has a friendly environment and culture that encourages everyone to be engaged and express ideas freely. Furthermore, the tone of respect, professionalism, and kindness created by my immediate manager makes our workplace productive and helps us to provide excellent customer service. It is a privilege to work with such a great group of people. I also appreciate the opportunities and steps the company is creating to help women progress in their careers.

 


 

What do you think makes you good at your job?

Most of my time at work is spent leading my team efficiently to create an environment that excels in customer satisfaction. I think I am good at this because I like to listen and build relationships with my team and customers. I use my years of experience in leadership to solve issues that arise quickly and effectively.

             


 

What are your goals at Colonial?

My goal at Colonial is to continue to support and make valuable contributions to my team, to work hard by taking on more responsibilities and to refine my skills for potential growth within the company.
